Several new wards established with familiar, cultural names

Notable new ward names include:

  • Saigon Ward (District 1): merging Ben Nghe, part of Da Kao, and Nguyen Thai Binh
  • Tan Dinh Ward: combining Tan Dinh and the remaining part of Da Kao
  • Ban Co, Xuan Hoa, Nhieu Loc, Khanh Hoi, Xom Chieu Wards: formed from previous smaller wards, reflecting iconic neighborhood names

These familiar names help maintain cultural identity and ensure public familiarity after the merger.

Five administrative units remain unchanged

  • Long Son Commune (Vung Tau City)
  • Hoa Hiep, Binh Chau, and Thanh An Communes (suburban/rural areas)

These areas retained their structure due to stable population and geographic criteria.
